Kate joined the Childnet team in July 2018. Kate comes to Childnet having spent over a decade leading education and school engagement programmes with development and sustainability charities. Kate studied Geography and Spanish at the University of Birmingham and then a PGCE at the Institute of Education in London.
After an early career teaching Spanish and French in secondary schools in London and the Bahamas, Kate worked in local government and social justice projects before taking an MSc in Development Studies and working at international NGOs such as Comic Relief, the marine Stewardship Council and Fairtrade.
Kate is a jack of all trades, having worked on websites to support schools, award-winning films and learning resources, as well as campaigning, advocacy and marketing – all focused on increasing young people’s agency to change the world around them for the better.
