Childnet Film Competition 2014

24 February 2014

The internet is an inspiring and positive place. A wonderful platform for creativity, to lobby one’s own ideas, and of course to have fun! At Childnet, we are constantly promoting the positive uses of the internet and making sure that young people are harnessing their passion for the internet by doing creative things online. We love to celebrate young people’s creativity online, and we find there is no better way to this than by holding a Film Competition every year! It’s now the time to introduce you to Childnet’s Film Competition 2014…

This year’s themes fit in nicely with Safer Internet Day 2014, with a separate theme for primary and secondary:

Primary

How would you make the internet a better place for you and your friends?

Secondary

What does a perfect online world mean to you?

If you would like to register a group of talented young people you know, then please send an email to [email protected] .

All of our shortlisted finalists will be invited to a private screening of their film at the BFI in London, where their film will be shown in front of our judging panel. The young people will be awarded some fantastic prizes for their school/youth group!

Please take note of the following important dates for your diary:

  1. Competition opens Monday 24th February
  2. Competition Closes Friday 20th June at 5pm
  3. Finalists Notified Friday 27th June
  4. Screening and Finalist Event at the BFI Monday 14th July

If you think that you could assist in the promotion of our film competition with schools and young people we would really appreciate it! It would be fantastic if you could share the news of our Film Competition on your website or social networking pages, or if we could be mentioned in any newsletters and mailing lists.

Please email [email protected] if you would like any more information, or find out more and download the schools packs at www.childnet.com/resources/film-competition.
