Championing youth voice this LGBT+ History Month

22 February 2024

To celebrate LGBT+ History Month, Childnet have created a poster for you to download and print for free. The poster is designed to be displayed in the classroom or at home, and can be a great starting point for discussions about the experiences of LGBT+ young people online.

This poster  reveals young people’s thoughts on important questions such as ‘What challenges do you think LGBT+ young people currently face online?’ and ‘What more can be done to make the online world safer for the LGBT+ community?’.

How to use this resource with your learners

This poster is designed to spark conversations with young people about the experiences of LGBT+ young people online, not just in LGBT+ History month, but throughout the year.

There are a few ways you can use this poster with your learners, including:

  • Asking your pupils the questions on the poster to find out their thoughts
  • Getting your pupils to create their own LGBT+ poster
  • Using the quotes a prompts for discussions in your classroom

This poster was created in consultation with young people from the Childnet Advisory Board and Digital Leaders Programme.

You can display this poster alongside the Childnet ‘Own your identity’ Pride Poster.
