New PSHE Toolkit on pornography, healthy relationships and body image online for schools to pilot

“I think you need the education that what you see isn’t what actually happens. It’s not real life.” KS3 Boy

With Relationship and Sex Education (RSE) becoming statutory in all schools from September 2019, we know that schools need practical, thoughtful and helpful resources to help them teach RSE.

In order to respond to this need, Childnet have created a new PSHE Toolkit for KS3, ‘Myth vs Reality’, looking at pornography, healthy relationships and body image online. This toolkit is an extension of our hugely successful PSHE accredited toolkit ‘Crossing the Line’.

We want to hear teachers and young people’s views on this resource to make sure that it is as helpful as possible. Through our work with thousands of children, teachers and parents each year we know that these are difficult topics to address in classrooms. This is a unique opportunity for schools to have direct input into a resource which will be freely available for all schools across the UK.

If your school is interested in taking part in this pilot then please find out more. You can also contact Kate at [email protected].

“It’s a great way of getting the subject across, is well planned and clear and would take a lot of hard work out of sourcing materials for delivering this important area of the curriculum.” – Teacher who piloted the ‘Crossing the Line’ Toolkit.
