Childnet Digital Leaders discuss the Internet Safety Strategy at DCMS

On Monday 13th November Childnet Digital Leaders from Sarah Bonnell School in London visited the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport today to discuss the recently launched Internet Safety Strategy.

The Digital Leaders were invited to have these discussions and share their achievements as Digital Leaders at a Roundtable with the Internet Safety Policy team.

Nusrat , Munibah, Zahra, Maariyah, Dharmanshi and Sukvheer from Sarah Bonnell School in London met with the department’s director of online safety, Sarah Connolly to share their views on social media platforms and digital literacy.

The Digital Leaders discussed ways in which social media companies could improve their service to ensure the young people have a safe and positive experience online. They shared ideas around best practise for reporting inappropriate content and incidents of cyber-bullying, and how the school curriculum can be reformed to successfully embed online safety education.
