Announcing the winners of the Digiduck ‘Front Cover Redesign’ Competition

In May we ran a competition for children to redesign the front cover of our popular children’s book Digiduck’s Big Decision. We were really impressed with the entries and had over 40 ‘new’ front covers submitted!

Children were asked to think about the most significant points of the story, and what / who should be represented on the front cover. It had to be entirely their own original art work and ideas! After grouping the entries into 3 categories, (Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2) we selected 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place for each age group.

We are delighted to announce that the winning entries are:

Reception Competition

1^st Place – Sanaya (Alpha Preparatory School in Harrow)

2^nd Place – Rania (Alpha Preparatory School in Harrow)

3^rd Place – Beatrice (Woods Loke Primary School in Lowestoft)

KS1 Competition

1^st Place – Alanna (Parc Eglos School in Helston)

2^nd Place – Arjun (Alpha Preparatory School in Harrow)

3^rd Place – Sam (Alpha Preparatory School in Harrow)

KS2 Competition

1^st Place – Sylvie (Ashmount Primary School in Islington)

2^nd Place – Marika (St. Mary’s CE Primary School in London)

3^rd Place – Yusefh (Phoenix Satellite at Marner Primary School in London)

1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place certificates were issued to the winning entries, and a certificate was sent to every pupil who took part to thank them for their hard work and creativity!

It was a real pleasure to receive such a fantastic array of designs and the standard was incredibly high. The children had clearly thought carefully about the plot of the book and had designed their covers accordingly. It was a very close vote and the Childnet Team staff members really enjoyed helping to judge!

The winning 9 entries will be displayed on the Childnet website, and a signed copy of the story has been sent out to Sanaya, Alanna and Sylvie. A huge thank you to everyone who took part, and many congratulations on your superb designs!
