Film Competition finalists notified

4 July 2013

We are delighted that we have notified the finalists for this year’s Film Competition.

After receiving over 100 entries this was not an easy task. This year has seen an increase in entries from schools, youth clubs and film clubs. The quality and creativity has been truly amazing, we have seen everything from stop-start animation to music videos (with young people writing their own music and raps!)

The six finalists (3 from each age category) will attend the awards event at the BFI in London where they will get to see their films on the big screen and celebrate all of their hard work! Our wonderful judges from the BBFC, Trend Micro, BFI and FilmCLUB will then have the challenging job of awarding 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

The winning films will be up on the Childnet website shortly for you all to see!

Has the idea of the Film Competition got your creative juices flowing? Do not fear, we also have the positive content competition running as part of our work as the UKSIC. The competition highlights great quality content for 4-12 year old children and encourages the creation of new content that will offer young people online opportunities to learn, play, discover and invent. The national first prize winner in each category will go on to compete at the European level.
