Club Penguin supports Childnet’s education work

19 December 2009

A generous donation from Club Penguin is helping boost Childnet International’s internet safety education efforts.

The donation has allowed Childnet to recruit an additional Education Officer who will expand the work to promote safe and responsible use of the Internet with children and young people around the UK. The support from Club Penguin will also enable Childnet to translate some of Childnet’s key educational content for children into French.

Will Gardner, Childnet’s CEO said:

“We are very excited with this support from Club Penguin which is going to have a significant impact on our education and awareness work. Reaching children, schools staff and parents with key messages about safe and responsible use of technology is a fundamental part of making the internet a great and safe place for children, and this donation will help support and grow this important work”.

”We at Club Penguin are passionate about creating a fun and safe online play experience for children and families around the world, and we’re really pleased to be able to support an organization such as Childnet which shares that commitment to keeping children safe online,” says Lane Merrifield, co-founder of Club Penguin and Executive Vice President of Disney Online Studios.
