EastEnders character Whitney Dean became a victim of cyberbullying and suffered alone, believing she was powerless to change things.

In this short film from the BBC, Shona McGarty who plays Whitney Dean shares her top tips for dealing with online abuse:

  1. Ignore it
  2. Block it
  3. Offload it: talk to someone you trust
  4. Record it: keep evidence
  5. Report it
