Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Childnet!

Christmas is a great time to spend with family and an opportunity to talk together about how to have a positive and safe time online.

Here are some Childnet resources that we think you may find helpful during the festive period:

Blog: Tech Gifts this Christmas

There are plenty of new gadgets that you may have bought for your children to put under the Christmas tree. But before you wrap up your presents, have you checked out the safety features?

Family Agreement:

A family agreement is a great way to start a conversation with your whole family about how you all use the internet. The family agreement can help you to discuss together how to behave in a positive way when online at home, at school or at a friend’s house.

Conversation Starters:

Ofcom recently found that 84% of children aged 5-15 have had conversations with parents about using technology safely and responsibly. Keep the conversation going with our conversation starters!

A simple and effective way to get involved with your children and their lives online is through discussion. By maintaining an open dialogue with your child and encouraging them to talk to you about their internet use, you can help them access the amazing resources the internet has to offer whilst keeping them safe online. This holiday time, why not ask them about their favourite websites or games online!
