New teacher training webinars from Childnet

18 September 2013

Research launched by the UK Safer Internet Centre today shows that most teachers don’t have access to basic internet safety training.

At Childnet, we wanted to make our teacher training more accessible and affordable for schools across the UK, so we’re pleased to announce that we will be running teacher training webinars on the 25 September. We hope these will be the first in a series of sessions that will equip teachers to deliver effective internet safety education.

The report from the UK Safer Internet Centre shows that schools are strong when it comes to policy and filtering, but they are consistently weak around staff training. The report is based on data from over 3,000 schools that use the 360 degree safe self-review tool, and it shows the strength and weaknesses of internet safety provision in schools in the UK.
